Project goals

The fact that thousands of internauts will be able to participate in a trip around the world with a virtual crew is just one of the goals of this project. In a nutshell, the project aims at:

• integration of various disciplines: navigation, computer science, electronics, mechanics, production technology, communications, law;
• investigation into new ways of automated control and remote control of autonomous systems;
• establishing a platform for a co-operation of many foreign partners: individuals, universities, industrial and service companies;
• promoting friendship as a way of bringing nations closer together; drawing media attention makes the project an excellent opportunity for advertising its sponsors;
• apart from Internet contacts, stopovers on diffierent continents open opportunities for meeting of sailing fans.
