The day was exciting!  Will the weather be good enough for the flight with the CH-53? In the
morning it was spooky quiet in the tent of the  
"RelationShip". At eight o'clock it the place of the happening began more and more to fill.
Hundreds of people took part at the baptism  
through the wife of the Minister President Erwin Teufel.

The Trimaran "The RelationShip" is finished - with the hull It is done! Weeks- and 
months of hard work is rewarded through esthetical forms

The helicopter transport with an army helicopter model CH53 to the Marina
in Breisach / Rhine is planned for Januar 7, 1997...so far as there is a
weather to fly over the Black Forest. At that time main parts of the "inner life" of
the RelationShip will not be installed. The on-board electronic,
the hydraulics, the sensors and actors for the navigation will be installed
after the BOOT '98 in the Jade-Shipyard in Wilhelmshaven (February/March '98)

Connected with the helicopter transport of the trimaran from Furtwangen to Breisach
are Events in Furtwangen and in Breisach. Several TV- and reporter-teams
have announced their visit so far. Besides this, we are pleased to welcome our patron,
Erwin Teufel the Minister President of the State of Baden-Württemberg.

The transfer of the parts of the RelationShip was successful! The mounting will be finished in the heated tent. Among numerous guests and helpers the ZDF was present.
The report will be televised on January 7, 1998 in the 'HEUTE JOURNAL'.

Up to now there were two reports on TV (SÜDWESTFUNK, channel 3) about RelationShip

outrigger. In the background Mister Garber and Mister Roher are putting the finishing touches.

The cycle of Relationship sponsors grows constantly. In the last days
the companies XBK-Kabel GmbH from Rottweil und die Firma WWW Woerlen
Wirtschaftswerbung GmbH from Freiburg signed contracts. XBK Kabel delivers the onboard cable system.
The company WWW Woerlen Wirtschaftswerbung takes care of further development of the
RelationShip PR-concept and the professional design of the almost 300 qm exhibition stand
at the BOOT '98 from the 17. - 25. January 1998 in Düsseldorf.

The Modules of the "RelationShip" will leave the shipyard in the Horray-Building within the next days.

On Friday the 05. 12. 1997 the tent, for the assembly of the "RelationShip" will be delivered.
On the same day the scaffolding at the end of the Horray-Building will be mounted.

On the 08. 12. 1997 the construction-parts of the RelationShip will be lifted
out of the building with a car-crane.

The WebCAM-Test is running! The position is not optimal so far, same applies for the lighting
... but we won't let you wait any longer.

+++ Düsseldorf, November 17, 1997 ++++ news ++++ news ++++ news

With the administration of the Düsseldorfer BOOT '98 important details for the participation
were discussed. The dates and the logistics for the journey of the RelationShip to the BOOT '98 in Düsseldorf are fixed: the RelationShip has to be at the latest on Januar 13, in Düsseldorf.

Der RelationShip-booth has measures of 10 x 23 meters (hall 14). The height is enough
for the 13-meter-rigging.

The boat-construction comes to the last phase. The dates for the helicopter-
transport from Furtwangen to Breisach and for the baptism of the boat will be
announced in the next days. As guest of honour and main speaker the
Minister President of the State of Baden-Württemberg Erwin Teufel
is expected to the baptism of the boat.

Two new sponsors were found with Samsung and Qant-X.

Hewlett-Packard, Böblingen, as a RelationShip-sponsor
offers high-powered servers for the team-communication and to realize the
groupware-solutions. Integrated in the team- and groupware-solutions are simultaneously
with the FHF-teams also the german and international partners.

Lotus, Munich, as a RelationShip sponsor offers the necessary software-servers
and -clients for the groupware-solutions.

+++ Furtwangen, Oktober 20, 1997 ++++ news ++++ news ++++ news

On Oktober 16 1997 the main hull of the "RelationShip" was taken out ouf the cradle
and turned round (pictures will be available soon!).
About forty students lifted the hull with a weight of two and a half tons out of the assembly holding device.
The eleven meter long hull is standing on its own keel now.

The assembly of the "RelationShip" in a tent in front of the Horray Building is in the planning stage now

The next milestones will be:

+ Transport of the "RelationShip" with an army helicopter to Breisach/Rhine
+ Voyage of the "RelationShip" downwards the Rhine to Düsseldorf
+ The fair BOOT'98 in Düsseldorf
+ The voyage of the "RelationShip" on Rhine and inland channel to Wilhelmshaven
+ Equipping of the "RelationShip" with elektronics, computers und navigation-systems
+ Test-cruise to Lissabon with a crew
+ Exhibition of the "RelationShip" at the EXPO'98 in Lisbon
+ First cruise without crew from Lissabon to Captown/South Africa
