Editorial Nach der Heftigkeit des Anpralls zu urteilen, mochte er von einer gewaltigen See herrühren, die sich hoch in die Luft erhoben hatte, um dann im Anschlagen gegen das Schiff sich zu überstürzen und von hoch oben darüber zusammenzubrechen. Ein fliegender Bruchteil von diesem Zusammensturz, ein bloßer Spritzer hüllte die beiden Männer vom Kopf bis zu den Füßen ein und füllte ihnen Ohren, Mund und Nase gewaltsam mit Salzwasser. Er verrenkte ihnen die Beine, zerrte an ihren Armen, schoß wie rasend unter ihrem Kinn vorbei, und als sie die Augen wieder zu öffnen vermochten, erblickten sie Wogen weißen Schaumes, die zwischen etwas brodelten, das den Trümmern eines Schiffes glich.
